Industry Analysis - The international Telco year in review 2001

Synopsis

Acquisitions that didn't pan out led to the biggest corporate losses ever. That resulted in a glut of capacity, chips and equipment, causing stocks to collapse. It's a classic case of supply and demand, with a lot of supply out there. Shares of Qwest Communications International Inc fell 68% and Sun Microsystems Inc stock dropped 55%.

"We wanted to extend our Com World Series of telecoms industry events to the South Pacific region and we were in urgent need of a partner in the region who could assist us with confirming the involvement of governments, telcos and more.
