Hong Kong - Major Telecom Players

Synopsis

Hong Kong has five mobile operators in a crowded market, which has continued to remain competitive through preparedness among the operators to restructure and be innovative. The vibrant market has also been well supported by the operators’ keenness to value-add to their service offerings through fixed-line and mobile services. This has resulted in an increasing number of operators offering triple-play and even quadruple play services in a bid to drive up ARPU. This report provides details of the players in the Hong Kong telecommunications market together with relevant statistical information.

Key Developments:

Sound financial results across most operators; increased investment for FttX deployments; launch of LTE; slight upswing in ARPU figures

Companies covered in this report include:

PCCW, City Telecom, Hong Kong Broadband Network, Hutchison Telecom Hong Kong Holdings, Wharf T&T, iCable, CSL New World, Peoples, SmarTone-Vodafone
