Global - Wireless Broadband - LTE

Synopsis

Archived report. This report was archived in 2010 and has not been updated since. In late 2009 the first commercial LTE services were launched in Stockholm, on the back of the wave of support that has grown for LTE over the past 12 months or so. WiMAX is being viewed more and more as a niche technology suitable for only some markets. In LTE’s favour is the fact that it allows operators a smooth migration from both legacy 3GPP and non-3GPP systems. In this report we provide a concise overview of LTE development including information on its major supporters. We also provide technical information on this emerging technology.
