Global - VoIP - Statistics & Forecasts

Synopsis

Archived report. This report was archived in 2008 and has not been updated since. Although uptake has not been as fast as originally expected, VoIP is gaining ground. Initial quality problems are being overcome, and VoIP is gaining favour as an essential ingredient in ‘triple play’ on broadband networks. The development of VoIP will further reduce the revenues of telcos and add further pressure on them to seek new revenues streams. This report presents statistics and forecasts for the VoIP market, covering subscriber growth, equipment and VoIP revenues. It also includes subscriber statistics for selected VoIP operators from around the world, and examines VoIP in terms of the business sector. For a further overview of the industry and analyses, see separate reports.
