Almost every mobile phone now sold has a web browsing capability. A very large number also have a screen and keyboard of some sort. Together with even a modest data plan and a relatively humble device, the mobile phone has become an extension of the web.
This new mobility has spawned huge interest in the creation of applications (apps) and useful, informative or simply entertaining mobile web sites. All of a sudden organisations can be just one click away from their users – anywhere, anytime.
From a customer service perspective – as well as from an internal systems point of view- there are compelling reasons for most organisations to include the capacity to interact via mobile devices.
