Synopsis
Archived report. This report was archived in February 2004 and has not been updated. Having successfully sold corporates and individuals on mobile telephony, facsimile, e-mail and voice messaging services, by the mid- to late 1990s the industry was looking at generating new service revenue by gluing them together to create coherent messaging services. The theory behind this was great, but the commercial and technical execution has proved to be extremely cumbersome. This report examined some of the products available to converge the various forms of messaging.
