Synopsis
Deregulation was intended to increase competition. However, this has not eventuated as the incumbents have held onto their markets and new entrants have either failed or remained a small force. As a result of this and the industry collapse in 2001, telcos have tended to remain with their old models and innovative solutions have been slow in coming. In many cases, business users have turned to ISPs and other sources to try to find products that meet their needs. This report discusses the issues, and strategies that can be used to overcome these problems.
