Many telcos are now at crossroads and over the next 12 to 18 months there will be a continuation of large scale fibre announcements from the various incumbent telcos around the globe. Japan leads the world in Fttx deployments with around 5 million homes connected in 2006. This report provides an overview of some the activities and deployments taking place around the world. Analysis of the current market and the various issues impacting the industry are available from separate reports.
