Synopsis

Archived report. This report was archived in July 2005 and has not been updated. With the expansion of telecommunications networks, countries have been networked, cities to some extent have been networked, offices to a lesser extent have been networked. Now there is a move towards having individual houses networked. This can be from being able to manipulate electronic devices inside the house from a remote location to linking all such devices together, and creating new devices that this technology makes possible. This report discussed the progress of these developments.
