Global - Analysis - Industry - Declining Telcos

Synopsis

Archived Report. This report was archived in 2005 and has not been updated. This report sees Paul Budde review and analyse incumbent telecommunications carriers in the market. At the industry level, irrespective of geographic borders, incumbent carriers have carved out unique competitive positions for themselves, and this report looks at what this position is and how it has come about. Monopolies remain strong and are even increasing, however disruptive technologies and -regulations are encroaching. Delaying tactics and denials are as prevalent as they were 10 years ago. Vision; directions; and strategic developments are well overdue. And than there are the customers, oops incumbents do have problems with that word. Paul Budde draws on this background to present his views on future directions for incumbent carriers and recommends strategies and business models for success in a dynamic industry.
