Synopsis
Paging, once a popular and effective mobile communication service in the 1980s-90s, has since fallen by the wayside as mobile phones and associated services have risen to prominence. Paging services still exist, and regulators continue to consider their development across Europe. However, the information and statistics are notoriously difficult to obtain for the service. Similar regulatory attention applies to spectrum reserved for public and private mobile radio services. TETRA has been the European highlight.
