Synopsis

This report profiles the top seven transnational ISPs in Europe and gives data on the number of total ISPs across the region since 2000. Broadband technologies were the key driver of growth, subscribers and revenues in 2003 and early 2004. Previously, free and flat-rate access models were important drivers. ADSL and cable modem networks are becoming increasingly important, with most operators reporting flat or declining ISDN and dial up revenue – but booming broadband demand.
