Synopsis
Germany is the largest telecom market in Europe and Austria is heavily influenced by it in many ways. However, in some areas the smaller country has exceeded the giant. For example, Austria has higher penetration levels of broadband services and mobile phones, and it successfully met the EU’s New Regulatory Framework implementation deadline when Germany did not. Nonetheless, the sheer size of Germany’s market sets it apart from other countries in Europe. This report compares and contrasts the two nations.
