Synopsis
This report covers Albania, Bosnia-Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Croatia, Cyprus, Greece, Macedonia, Romania and Yugoslavia. Mainly due to the low income levels in all countries except Greece and Cyprus, fixed-line, Internet and mobile penetration rates are all low. Greece has surprisingly low Internet penetration rates and Cyprus has low mobile penetration rates. Mobile growth rates in all countries have slowed over the past year. 3G licences have been awarded only in Greece. Broadband Internet access is available in several countries but subscriber numbers are minimal.
