Estonia - Mobile Infrastructure, Broadband, Operators - Statistics and Analyses

Synopsis

Estonia’s mature mobile market has particularly high SIM card penetration for the region. Services are offered by the mobile network operators EMT, Elisa and Tele2 as well as by one MVNO. While operators have invested in WCDMA and HSPA technologies to underscore the growing mobile broadband sector, more recently efforts have gone into extending LTE and trialling LTE-A. By May 2015 LTE coverage effectively matched that of existing 3G networks, so supporting a range of mobile content and applications. These developments are expected to underpin future revenue growth in the sector. This report provides a concise overview of Estonia’s mobile market as players further develop the data sector.
