Synopsis
Denmark’s mobile market has shown steady growth despite the country having one of the highest mobile penetration rates in Europe. Growth has been stimulated by consumer demand for data services, and this is set to continue strongly during the next few years in the wake of the award of licences for 2.56Hz spectrum and the anticipated auction of spectrum in the 800MHz band. All four main operators – TDC Mobile, Telenor Denmark, Telia and Hi3G – are developing LTE services, supplementing their existing HSPA networks. This report provides statistics and research on the Danish mobile market, including the key regulatory issues and the growth of mobile data services such as mobile TV.
