Denmark - Data, Internet, Broadband and E-services

Synopsis

Archived report: this report was archived on 9 April 2005 and has not been updated. Research relating to Denmark’s broadband market is updated in the Denmark - Broadband Market - Overview, Statistics & Forecasts report. Like other Nordic countries, broadband is well advanced in Denmark and it has among the highest levels of broadband penetration services in Europe. All platforms are available, though ADSL is more successful than cable broadband. Fibre optic cable networks are not widely available, Fixed Wireless Access licences were issued at the end of 2000, and a number of WLAN hotspots launched in 2002. Competition has driven growth, as broadband prices are relatively high in Denmark. This report also looks at the broader Internet, online content and data markets in Denmark in 2004.
