Dacom Corporation

Synopsis

Listed on the Korean Stock Exchange, Dacom Corporation is controlled by the LG Group, one of the largest diversified conglomerates in Korea. Dacom provides international and domestic long-distance telephony, Internet and data communication services, and is the second largest fixed-line carrier in South Korea. Its Chollian service is the largest online communication service in Korea. In November 2002, the company acquired Powercomm, owner of a national fibre optic and cable TV network. The company is expanding into converged telecommunications, IP and digital broadcasting over its expanded network. In early 2005, it will enter the local call market.
