Synopsis

Cable & Wireless is a major global telecommunications business with customers in 80 countries. Following a decade of changing directions, it is now concentrating on providing IP and data services to business customers. It is developing advanced networks and value-added services in Europe and the Asia-Pacific region in support of this strategy. With the capability of its global IP infrastructure, and its presence in key markets, C&W feels that it holds a significant position in the industry in terms of global coverage and services to business customers. Over the past decade it has undergone numerous reorganisations and divestitures. It remains to be seen if the latest reorganisation will be successful. A company analysis by Paul is included.
