Belarus - Telecoms, Mobile, Broadband and Forecasts

Synopsis

This report provides an overview of Belarus’ telecom market, accompanied by numerous insightful statistics, profiles of services providers and significant coverage of market and regulatory developments. Fixed-line services are offered by monopoly operator Beltelecom, which has investing in modernising and deploying network infrastructure. Steady growth in the country’s developing fixed-line market has been outstripped by the mobile market’s rapid rise, with mobile penetration surpassing that of fixed lines. Three GSM and one CDMA operator offer services with EDGE and CDMA 1x EV-DO data services available, the latter of which is being marketed as a fixed line alternative in Belarus’ broadband market, which is currently served by ADSL, cable and WiFi broadband platforms.
