Synopsis
Archived report: this report was archived in February 2006 and has not been updated since. British Telecom launched BT Ignite in July 2000 and since then has restructured its international organisations, giving BT Ignite responsibility for all international fixed voice and data activities and renaming it BT Global Services. This was in addition to the division’s existing fixed network voice, data, Internet and broadband operations. This report profiles BT Global Services’ international operations, including those inherited from the former Concert joint venture, and its considerable financial write downs, as well as its own current financial position. BT Global Services’ main services are included. In November 2004, BT reached agreement to acquire Infonet, with the aim of increasing its global reach.
