Synopsis
This report largely analyses information drawn from the results of several surveys relating to mobile media usage in Australia over the period 2008-2013.
Surveys include reports by the Australian Interactive Media Industry Association (Australian Mobile Phone Lifestyle Index and Mobile Traffic Trends), m-Net Corporation (Mobile Data Services Study), International Data Corporation (Mobile Broadband Competitive Analysis), Morgan Stanley (Internet Trends), Telstra and the Australian Communications and Media Authority (ACMA).
While uptake of new services and mobile advertising is extremely difficult to track and forecast, BuddeComm predicts mobile data revenue in 2012/13 may approach $7-$8 billion.
In this report we also provide statistical estimates relating to revenues and ARPU across operators in the industry, as well as forecasts into 2012. We also provide an overview with some statistics and text based-information along with tabular data and some easy-to-read charts.
