Synopsis
While there has been much hype surrounding e-commerce and the high profile dot com boom and bust has affected impressions on the potential of technology, there is still much to be said for benefits flowing from realistic and prudent e-commerce projects and initiatives. This report considers some of the hype, and more importantly, it notes the importance of realistic policies and objectives from the governmental level down through industry and to the end-user. Also included here are the growing number of international arrangements Australia is forging to develop its e-economy.
