Synopsis
With the convergence of telecoms, media and IT we see the arrival of Digital Media. This report focuses on one of the key applications; video entertainment. As broadband speed and capacity increase, a whole new range of applications will be entering the market over the next decade. The killer application on these networks will be video based communication, mainly produced by the users themselves. Commercial video entertainment will only account for a quarter of these services. However, rather than straightforward video based entertainment it is envisaged that the industry will produce new entertainment which will include new elements based on personalised and interactive video applications.
