Synopsis

By 2007, future directions for the digital media are becoming clearer. The traditional media finally are moving into more innovative directions. The telcos still keep posturing but have failed the lead they had in the market for the last 5 years. Some convergence will take place now, other forms will have to wait till open networks based on NGN and fibre are becoming available over the next 10 years. In the meantime, supplementary as well as converged services will be introduced. Interesting developments can be expected from combined digital TV and broadband services, linked together into one set top box. User generated video content will be the largest growth market, video based consultancy, monitoring and communication services will see significant growth during the year.
