Synopsis
My hobby being history, I have recently embarked on a project, tracing the events that took place ‘Before The Web’. The videotex technology was the focus of my first involvement with telecommunications, back in 1978. With my background in marketing I immediately recognised the many commercial opportunities of online services – and, 25 years later, I continue to enjoy a rewarding association with the telecommunications industry. This report describes the period BTW and lists the many pioneers of these early days.
