Synopsis

Opening up the local telecommunications network is one of the key elements in competition. Whoever controls the access to the customer will control the entire telecoms industry. The industry’s strategies and investments were clearly concentrated around mobile – there was little or no interest in broadband. With improved wholesale services, close to thirty other companies joined this group during 2002.
