Synopsis

BuddeComm have released a set of 3 "Africa Reports", as part of their annual research publications. Furthermore this report provides overviews of the main market segments on the continent as well as company profiles. During 2001, the Algerian government set up a new telecom company, Algerie Telecom. A second GSM licence was awarded to Egyptian operator Orascom Telecom in July 2001.
