Synopsis

With the roll out of fixed broadband lagging well behind that of comparable countries, wireless broadband is seen as a possible alternative. There are two large-scale projects underway, but increasingly also wireless broadband is looked at as a potential alternative. While there are certainly great problems for large-scale deployment there are also niche market opportunity for wireless broadband in the local loop. WiMAX is rapidly developing as the international standard in this market. This report was archived in May 2005.
